Our Facility

We are located on the historic Sandy Point Farm in Portsmouth, RI. This one of a kind facility was designed by Architect A.S. Walker for Reginald C. Vanderbilt, an avid horseman and founding president of the US Equestrian Federation (USEF). Sandy Point was an epicenter for Newport society during Gilded Age summer seasons in Newport. It has been continuously operated as an elite horse training facility and a renowned architectural feature in the community since its construction was completed in 1902, and we are committed to keeping it that way.

30 Stalls

All horses on site have their own 12'x12' stall. The stable features a unique open design with stalls surrounding a lofted indoor arena.

Indoor Ring

You've never seen an indoor quite like this one! Enjoy 4 seasons of riding inside our 15,000 sqft indoor arena, which has a 60-foot vaulted ceiling constructed of cypress timbers.

Outdoor Rings

We have two outdoor riding rings featuring a full course of adjustable fences for lessons and training.

Paddocks

The property is set on over 6 acres, a large portion of which is dedicated to paddock space. We rotate turnout to ensure all horses have adequate, safe time outside.

Other Amenities

Our stable facility has a large tack room, wash stall, grooming stall, and more. We are steps away from the Sakonnet Greenway network of trails. Our property also features several other unique amenities, like a jazz music studio in Reginald Vanderbilt's former lounge.
